NEET PG 2025: Supreme Court Mandates Single-Shift Exam on June 15

To maintain fairness in medical entrance exams, the Supreme Court of India instructed that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 will be held only in one shift. Because of this choice, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will not conduct the exam in two parts on June 15, 2025.

Supreme Court’s Ruling

On May 30, 2025, the bench with Justices Vikram Nath, Sanjay Kumar and N V Anjaria stressed that all students must take exams under the same conditions. The court argued that having the exam spread out over multiple sessions might cause the questions to become more difficult as time went on which could make things unfair for some test-takers. NEET PG 2025 will take place in a single shift because the ruling requires NBEMS to ensure fairness and equal chances for every candidate.
